Tesla Battery Atlas

Find my battery · Evidence-based identification

Find the battery behind your Tesla.

Five questions, answered with documented evidence. When Tesla used more than one pack for the same configuration, you'll see every candidate, why your inputs can't separate them, and how to settle it.

Decoding European variant codes

In the EU, the Certificate of Conformity and field D.2 of the registration certificate list a variant code such as E5LD. Community research, led by the TFF Forum Akkuwiki, has mapped these codes to battery packs.

The observed pattern: a model letter (E = Model 3, Y = Model Y), then the battery code (for example 5L), then a drive letter (R = single motor, D = dual motor). This is a community-derived pattern, not an official Tesla specification.

Registration data can be outdated. Owners have reported certificates listing superseded capacities, so treat the code as strong evidence and the stated kWh as approximate.
