About this pack

When Giga Shanghai began building the Long Range Model 3, it sourced nickel-rich NCM811 2170 cells from LG Chem's Nanjing plant. Community tables list the resulting 5C pack at about 74.5–75 kWh.

The 5C was succeeded by the 5L within roughly a year.

Identification

How to tell if your car has it

  • European cars: variant field (D.2) E5CD on the registration certificate or COC.
  • The part number on the high-voltage battery label and Tesla service records are definitive. A VIN alone does not encode the cell supplier or pack code.
